Not to be confused with Chemdawg, Chemdog Kush is a cross between Chemdawg and  OG Kush. Chemdawg, being an OG Kush cross itself, makes Chemdog a backcross. Chemdog is known by many other names, so it's easy to confuse, but its potent, tasty profile make it worthy of recognition. Popular in many dispensaries across the United States and Canada, Chemdog Kush is an indica that will leave users feeling relaxed and creative.

Chemdog marijuana, an indica or sativa?

Whilst Chemdawg is a hybrid, Chemdog is not. It’s a pretty potent indica strain, which was brought back to popularity by growing legends Green House Seeds Co. or Sea of Seeds, which are two connected seedbanks. This is normally a stamp of high quality, so you know that if you do find some Chem D.O.G you’re going to be a very happy stoner. It has a large number of trichomes, which are favoured by concentrate makers, and the body rush and physical relaxation will be familiar to lovers of indicas. 

What you’re actually smoking depends heavily on the breeder or the seeds that were used to create the buds. However, what is certain is that Chemdog is a fantastic strain bred for both potency and flavor. The most likely combination is Chemdawg Sour Diesel or Chemdawg OG Kush.
 

Chemdog Kush THC percentage 

The average indica has around 13% THC, whereas Chemdog Kush has around 21% THC. This is a pretty big difference. However, it is balanced by the fact that it also contains about 1.50% CBD. This balancing act means that the body high is overwhelming, but your mind is still free to go on an adventure whilst you’re glued to the sofa.
 

Chemdog price 

Chemdog seeds are available from Green House Seeds. This means that in general the price is a lot lower than it would be if this strain was from the West Coast or elsewhere in North America. That is because, in general, the seedbanks of Amsterdam always have their seeds available online, whereas the West Coast breeders often create clone-only strains. The reason for this is because they rate their boutique strains much more highly and don’t want everyone and anyone to get their hands on them. Truth be told though, the Dutch may have the last laugh, as the amount of money they must make from selling seeds has got to be pretty nuts.
 

Chemdog taste

Chemdog has the following flavors:

The strain itself has three of the most sought-after terpenes in the cannabis community, limonene, caryophyllene, and myrcene. This touch of citrus mixed with lemon can only truly be appreciated inside a flower vape. This is because in a flower vape there’s no combustion of the plant matter, allowing for a full experience of the flavor profile your cannabis has to offer.
 

Chemdog wax, oil, shatter, edibles, etc. 

You can use literally any strain to make oil, wax, shatter, or edibles. However, one thing that concentrates makers look for is a high trichome production. That is exactly what Chem D.O.G offers its users. These trichomes also give it a high THC percentage, which is another thing that people look for to make Butane Hash Oil. This is considered dangerous, so please be careful if you choose to attempt this.
 
You can also use any strain you'd like to make edibles. That is another advantage of using a flower vape: you can actually use the already vaped bud to make edibles quickly and easily. However, if you don’t use already vaped bud, you MUST decarboxylate your cannabis first. If you don’t, you’re missing out on a huge percentage of your potency. Already vaped bud, when vaped at a low temperature, is actually perfectly decarboxylated cannabis.

Chemdog Kush is a potent indica with some sativa effects. This means users will experience a two-pronged high. Your body will feel overwhelmingly relaxed and potentially even lethargic, but your mind is also free to wander and think about some cool things or enjoy music/TV/whatever you’re in to. This strain is particularly good for aiding sleep. Don’t just smoke this strain and expect to fall asleep; you need to give it an hour or two before bed-time to smoke up. That is because of the cerebral high, which could keep your mind racing for a few hours.

Chemdog Kush has a fairly long flowering time, sitting at 9 weeks indoor and finishing the first week of October for an outdoor grow.
 

Chemdog Growing tips 

This strain reacts well to ScrOG or Low-Stress Training (LST) techniques. LST is like bonsai for cannabis plants, where you bend the stems and tie them in place to change the growth pattern of the plant. This can increase yields without requiring a whole new setup.
