Not to be confused with Cherry Yum Yums or Strawberry Yum Yums, which are completely unrelated delicious desserts, Blueberry Yum Yum is a hybrid strain that grew to prominence after the release of the Ludacris' song with the same name.
It’s a cross between Blueberry and Durban Poison Sativa. This is a great cross between a well known and well-loved Indica and Sativa. A lot of the best hybrids are balanced, but this is definitely more on the indica side. This strain may have you sitting on your ass, so be warned. If you can battle through the couch-lock, you will be impressed with the uplifting nature of the high.
Blueberry Yum Yum has some nice nuggs, which are perfect for grinding up. The smell is very berry-like, as is the taste. This is definitely one you want to crack the flower vape out for, to get that real berry-like taste which is just so damn desirable when smoking. It also has an earthy flavor, which likely comes from its Durban Poison heritage. Durban Poison is a very interesting strain and known as what is called a landrace strainBackground
It's not actually clear which came first in this case, the Blueberry Yum Yum weed strain or the Ludacris song in 2004. What is known is that this Durban Poison x Blueberry cross can be one potent cocktail. Blueberry Yum Yum often tests at around 20% THC, making it a potent cross of its two parents: the well-loved strain Blueberry and the South African landrace strain Durban Poison.
An eighth of Blueberry Yum Yum would almost certainly set you back at least $50. It's a very sought after strain. This strain is shrouded in mystery as to the exact history, but it's probably a California strain simply because of the song. Ludacris seems pretty proud of Cali's growing standards in the song. It won the 2000 Cannabis Cup Best Indica Strain award, and will likely last a good few hours. If you find the indica effects too heavy, try having a cold shower, as this will wake you up in no time!
What is a Landrace strain?
This video explains it nicely, but in case you can't watch it, we'll explain what a landrace actually is. Landrace strains are basically the original strains that are local to a particular area of the world. As many different cultures around the world, these strains, spanning on different continents, are quite different from one another but are generally sativas with a nice cerebral buzz. A lot of the best strains are simply landrace crosses, or landraces x cross. It's always very exciting when you find a nice bud of something like Blueberry Yum Yum because the bud always has qualities unique to their landrace strain. The orange hairs which cover this strain are very attractive, and the smell when you grind it up will leave you salivating.
Blueberry Yum Yum Concentrates
This strain is perfect for concentrates, which means that there are a few dispensaries in the U.S. who sell Blueberry Yum Yum Strain Shatter, wax, oils, and all of your concentrate needs (for example Taste Buds, Detroit).
Tasting notes
You probably won't taste Blueberry on the inhale, but as you exhale, you will be left with an earthy, berry aftertaste. Strains rarely taste as good as they sound, and the earthiness could be seen as overpowering for some. However, this strain is definitely sweet and definitely has berry overtones. This strain smell isn't subtle, so if you're going for a sneaky smoke, don't roll a blunt of this up.

Blueberry Yum Yum Yield & Growing Tips
The indoor growth time is around 8 weeks and will yield around 8-10 ounces per meter squared. Outdoors, it will take a lot longer, and will yield just over 10 ounces of bud per plant. It's going to be tough to grow these plants in an outdoor climate in Europe. Your best bet is an indoor grow op with an optimized set-up.
Seeds and Where to Buy them
The Blueberry Yum Yum seeds are going to be hard to find on the internet. In general, California strains are much more exclusive than Amsterdam strains. This means they don't make extra money selling their seeds online, but instead they make the extra money by selling out their boutique strains. You can buy seeds online, but whether you'll be able to find Blueberry Yum Yum strain seeds or not is unclear. It's best to buy from big websites like Zamnesia. If you do find them, post your source in the comments below for all of our friends.
