If you’re familiar with dankenstein strains, then you’ll know a good combination when you hear one. It’s a very rare strain, so don’t expect to pick Mendo Breath up in your average Amsterdam coffee shop. With a good average THC content, this strain really can knock you off your feet. Although it’s an Indica strain, it does have slight Sativa buzzes, which can work in great combination with the thick, strong Indica high. It’s a lot about the taste for some people, and Mendo Breath’s taste is almost certainly what makes this strain so famous. Just be warned, this is a very potent high, and shouldn’t be treated lightly.
Mendo Breath Indica
Mendo Breath geneticsOriginally created by Cage Green Genetics, this strain brings together two incredibly dank strains to create one dank monster. Mendo Breath is a cross between:
- OG Kush Breath (OGKB)
- Mendo Montage
Mendo Montage is incredibly rare, and OG Kush Breath is a pretty famous strain, being one of the main strains in the Cookies Fam genetics company. That is why some people call this strain Mendo Cookies, because of its link to Cookies Fam genetics. This strain is also known as Mendo OG, Pugs Breath strain, Mendobreath, Mendostrain, Mendo Kush, or even Peanut Butter Breath strain, because of its unique flavor profile. Any strain that has OG Kush in its lineage is sometimes referred to as Strain OG or Strain Kush. For example, Fire OG.
Mendo Breath THC percentageMendo Breath isn’t playing around. The average indica is around 12.5%, whereas even the average Mendo Breath tests at around 19%. The highest THC percentage this strain can get up to is about 20%, so although this isn’t as strong as something like Kosher Kush (which can test 30%+ THC) it is still a very strong Indica strain.
Mendo Breath priceAs is normal with strains like this, the seeds aren’t easy to come by. In fact, if you’re not getting a direct clipping from a plant, it’s almost impossible to say for certain whether or not your seeds are actually Mendo Breath seeds or not. This is a problem, and in general, it means that the price is very high. If you’re lucky enough to be on the West Coast, you’re probably looking at about $15 a gram. However, outside of North America, let’s say in Amsterdam, the price is going to be about $20-30 a gram. MDB scout can be hard to find, so good luck. Places like High Noon Portland sell this strain at only $12 a gram.
Mendo Breath taste
Mendo Breath oil, wax shatter, edibles, etc.If you look at the picture below, you'll see an example of someone who made wax from Mendo Breath. You can actually make any strain you want into a wax, provided that you know the correct techniques. This is good news for those who want strain-specific wax, shatters, or oils. However, the process is certainly not easy, and can actually be dangerous. Furthermore, if you mess it up, you can actually inhale some pretty dirty chemicals, so be careful.
If you want to make edibles, then here’s another piece of good news: you can make edibles out of any strain you like! You first have to decarboxylate your weed: this is vital, as it fully activates your THC. Without doing this, you’re missing out on a large amount of the potency that is associated with edibles. Once you’ve done this, simply grab your weed and mix it with either a fat or oil. Then cook or eat, and you’ll be high as a kite in a few hours. If you have a vaporizer, then you can simply use your already vaped bud, which is a perfectly decarboxylated flower, and do the same thing.

Mendo Breath is a strong indica, which makes it perfect as a sleep aid. If you’re struggling to sleep after smoking weed, then you should smoke it an hour or an hour and a half before sleep. That is because the cerebral buzzing can often keep you awake.
Mendo Breath flowering timeMendo Breath has a fairly short to medium flowering time, which is only about 8 or 9 weeks. Although this isn’t really as short as some strains, it’s still a fairly quick growth.
Mendo Breath Growing tipsThankfully, this strain is easy to grow. However, it’s very very hard to find the actual strain. You can grow this strain inside and outside, but obviously outside would require very specific growing conditions such as lots of suns and a Californian climate. So good luck growing this strain outside if you're not in Cali.
Mendo Breath dope seeds
This is a clone-only strain. That means that seeds are actually impossible to find, you can only grow this strain if you manage to get the clippings of it. So basically if you’re not in North America and you don’t know any growers out there, you’re going to have a hard time knowing that you're growing the real deal.
Mendo Breath yieldMendo Breath has an average yield coming in at around 3 ounces per foot squared. Outdoor growers can expect a similar yield. This isn’t the most yield of any plant, but it's not the least either and the efforts will be well worth it!

This strain is clone-only, meaning that it’s very hard to grow this strain as a home grower. However, if you do manage to get your hands on this strain, then you’re in for a tasty, heavy indica treat. It's a great nighttime strain that can help you out with stress and pain, and will also induce sleep.
