Purple Punch is an Indica-dominant hybrid. It has Grand Daddy Purple genetics, which is an instant sign of quality for most smokers. This strain is a great choice for concentrate makers because it’s completely covered in crystal trichomes. It's what is known as a dankenstein strain, which is a cross between two or more dank strains to create one even danker strain. The end result has both great taste and high potency.
This strain is sometimes called Blueberry Muffins strain, Purple Sticky Punch, Mimosa weed, OG Purp, Grape Punch, or Purple Punch 2.0.

Purple Punch: Indica or Sativa?
Purple Punch is a hybrid that tends to come in heavily on the indica side. This is because of its genetics, which crosses two already heavy indica or indica-dominant classics together. The purple buds further bring out the trichomes that absolutely laden this beautiful strain. Purple Punch definitely packs a punch; you'll feel it in both the head and the body. You should be wary of this strain, as it could definitely knock your socks off. Big, dense, fragrant, purple buds are the specialty of Purple Punch.

Purple Punch weed genetics
Purple Punch is the love child of two Indica-dominant strains, both of these strains are known for their effects and also their taste. The two strains are:
This strain crosses these two strains together beautifully. Larry OG and Graddaddy Purple come together to create this 80/20 Indica-dominant hybrid, which you will really struggle in finding a better-tasting strain. OG Kush, here found in Larry OG, is often used to breed other strains because of its high THC percentage, which is definitely the case here. This, when crossed with the punch purple buds that made Grandaddy Purple so famous, making this strain a true dankenstein strain.

Purple Punch THC percentage
Average India has around 12% THC inside it. Purple Punch can test up to 20% THC, which is pretty high. The average THC percentage of this strain is about 18%. Purple Punch's high THC average is yet another example of how weed has grown in potency over the decades!
Purple Punch price
Purple Punch prices can vary massively. It really depends where you are in the world. If you’re in Oregon, the dispensaries sell the strain for incredibly low prices. This is likely because there is a high supply over there. However, in LA and San Francisco, the price is closer to $15 a gram. In the coffee shops in Amsterdam, it’s going to be even more expensive, as the strain is very rare outside of North America. In Amsterdam, you could pay up to $30 a gram.
Purple Punch taste
Dankenstein strains normally have two things: potency and taste. Purple Punch certainly falls into line with these traits. Its taste profile includes:
You should definitely get your trusty flower vaporizer out for this one. This will allow you to fully experience the wonderful taste of Purple Punch. Vaporizers are better because they do not actually burn the herb, they simply heat it to the correct temperature. You should make sure to grind your weed first, as this allows all of the flavor and the best parts inside the buds out. You can really taste the difference between smoking a blunt and vaping with a vaporizer.
Purple Punch oil, wax, shatter, edibles, etc.
Another advantage of using a vaporizer is that you can use your already vaped marijuana to easily create edibles. This is a fantastic way to recycle your weed. In order to make edibles you need to decarboxylate your weed before you eat it. This is because you have to turn the raw THC (THCA) into THC, which requires heat. If you use a vaporizer, the already vaped bud is actually a perfectly decarboxylated weed. Simply mix the already vaped bud (AVB) with either a fat or oil, cook it, or eat it as it is, and you’re good to go. You can simply spread some butter on toast, sprinkle some AVB onto it and you've got a potent edible.
To make concentrates, oils, waxes, and shatters people look for strains that taste great and have high THC content. They also look for trichomes. Purple Punch not only has all three of these characteristics, but it excels at them! This makes it an absolutely perfect choice for making concentrates. The concentrating process itself is pretty dangerous, so be careful. You can learn how to make Butane Hash Oil here.

Purple Punch is an Indica-dominant hybrid, and as such should be smoked at nighttime. However, as it does have a bit of a cerebral kick, you shouldn’t feel too bad if you smoke it during the daytime either. It’s generally a good all-around strain, and should completely smother stress. It should also help you sleep, as it has very sedative qualities.

Purple Punch flowering time
Purple Punch has a reasonably quick flowering time, averaging about 7-8 weeks to flower.
Purple Punch Growing tips
The plant is fairly resilient to mold and mites. It also reacts very well to pruning. Since Purple Punch has large, dense buds, you should consider supporting this plant, as if not it could droop. It has a shrub-like grow, as it’s predominantly an indica.
Purple Punch seeds
The seeds for Purple Punch are notoriously difficult to find. You’d be very lucky to find these seeds, as the original seed bank does not sell the seeds online. Purple Caper Seeds don’t just sell their seeds online, they simply supply their master strains to select growers. These growers are mainly in California.

What is the Purple Punch strain?
This is an Indica-dominant hybrid, with an 80/20 split. Although it mainly has an indica high, the sativa high is nothing to laugh at. As such, don’t expect this strain to instantaneously put you to sleep. After you smoke it you should wait a few hours and then try and sleep; we'd be you'll find yourself falling asleep very easily. It has a decent flowering time, a decent yield, but the seeds are incredibly hard to find.
- Indica-dominant hybrid
- Great tasting strain, perfect for a flower vape
- Hard to find the seeds
- Only really available in North America, or at a high price in Amsterdam
- Can aid sleep, but leave it a few hours after smoking
