God’s Gift Weed Strain Review

Gods Gift flower grow

With a name as resounding as God’s Gift strain, this heavy indica certainly has a lot to live up to, and lots of people really do recognize its effects as a sign of divinity. With an indica to sativa ratio of 90/10, and THC levels usually between 18 and 22%, but sometimes as high as the staggering 27%, this berry, smooth-tasting weed will glue you to the couch in a heavy-bodied trance.

That being said, don’t mistake this hazy state of mind with absent-mindedness. The whole experience is pervaded by euphoria, deep peacefulness and happiness, and an overarching positivity that stems from your struggles, physical and mental alike.

Background and History

The God’s Gift weed strain first came on the scene in 2005 in dispensaries throughout California and instantly made its presence known. The breeders who are usually associated with God’s Gift strain are BC Bud Depot and Scorpion Crew, however, the strain’s exact origin remains unclear to this day, only adding to its enigmatic status.

God’s Gift’s Lineage

OG Kush and Granddaddy Purple

This strain can sometimes be referred to as God’s Gift kush, after its parent, however OG God’s Gift strain isn't widely used.

It’s also worth mentioning that God’s Gift strain doesn’t have anything to do with Amazing Grace despite the two sharing somewhat of a religious theme in their titles.

Physical Characteristics

God’s Gift is a very good-looking strain, in a somewhat psychedelic kind of way.

The strain’s prevailing color is a darkish, radiant shade of purple, with green and gray undertones, and contrasting orange pistils interlacing the dense buds throughout. Reflecting its THC abundance, the flowers are heavily covered with trichomes, adding a slightly frosty look to the whole picture which is prettier than a work of art.

Tasting Notes

The tasting notes of God's Gift marijuana strain can best be described as "what you smell is what you get."

Its divinity first wafts in the form of a grape and berry aromas, with a palpable touch of earthy herbs and a hint of sweet spice which are just enough to give the fruitiness a slight kick.

God’s Gift’s is very smooth-tasting weed and doesn’t cause any coughing. It has a berry flavor reminiscent of grape with lemon undertones, slight notes of fresh citrus, and an after-taste, that is like breathing in the forest morning freshness.

Overall, God’s Gift is a very pleasant and refreshing weed to both taste and smell with tasting tones so balanced it is like enjoying a well-mixed cocktail.

God’s Gift is also very popular in a vaping oil form.

Recreational Effects

This strain gives you the gift of profound relaxation. It will put you in a state of such deep physical and mental comfort. “Disturbed” only by strong munchies, the only thing powerful enough to get you off the couch will be the pizza guy ringing your doorbell.

And while the full-bodied physical experience of God’s Gift will most definitely involve a couch, bed, or lying of some sort, this doesn’t go to say your mind will succumb to complete lethargy as well, even though focus and sharp wit are not among the gifts of this strain. This weed induces a trance-like state of deep peacefulness and happiness. It’s like a pair of rose-tinted glasses, a somewhat philosophical and dreamy perspective on life from which the world and your place in it are exactly where they’re supposed to be. The good only gets better. This deep, internal, overarching positivity is the essence of God’s Gift.

At times, this happiness can become overwhelming and just spill out of you in the form of uncontrollable giggles, especially if you happen to be watching something funny (but not necessarily, as the giggles may sneak up at any time).

As you might imagine, consuming God’s Gift when you have the stuff to do will only deliver the sense of God’s curse. This weed is perfect for the end of the day and suitable for mid-day only when you’ve crossed off almost everything from your to-do list. Even if you’re on vacation, it’s not a good idea to use God’s Gift if you’re planning to do some sightseeing, exploring, or pretty much anything that would require you to move around and/or be even partly clear-headed. If you do, make sure your smoke with caution  a small puff or two – anything else will incapacitate you in that sense.

Overall, God’s Gift is perfect for those seeking to truly relax, feel good, and do nothing else besides enjoying a head high vacation, even it’s just on the couch.

Medical Effects

Needless to say, one of God’s Gift’s most precious properties for some is the gift of sleep. If you’re suffering from insomnia, there’s hardly a better solution than this indica strain. And generally speaking, sativa vs indica is a competitive contest on many levels, but when it comes to difficulties with sleeping, the winner is always indica.

God’s Gift can also be great for those with different kinds of aches, and not just because it has the power to knock them out. The strain has demonstrated strong and wide-ranging pain-relieving properties, helping people with arthritis, chronic pain, backaches, muscle spasms, inflammation, chemotherapy pain, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Because God’s Gift’s power spans far beyond the physical realm, the deep inner peace, and happiness, or at the very least the elevated mood and spirit, can go a long way in people’s battles with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.

Possible Side-Effects

As with most potent strains with high contents of THC, God’s Gift can potentially cause some paranoia, especially in excessive quantities and to those who have struggled with anxiety or mood disorders. As mentioned above, the strain can also be a real gift to such people, as long as they do it moderately, just like prescribed medicine.

God’s Gift’s high potency makes it an easy strain to over smoke. Considering the reverse effects it can potentially cause to people with a history of mental conditions, it might be a good idea for them to use a vaporizer which makes controlling dosage easier and more precise.

Also, as with lots of strong indicas, it’s possible to feel a little groggy afterward. However, it’s nothing drinking water before, during, and after won’t fix, especially if you haven’t consumed too much.

Growing Tips

As a reflection of God’s Gift ease of effects on users, the strain is pretty easy-going in terms of growth. It’s even recommended for beginners as it’s undemanding, low-maintenance, and in short, pretty easy to grow.

The main “ritual” you need to do to deserve the gift in its full might is to provide lots of nutrients in the form of minerals, vitamins, and water. This weed has a strong natural defense against diseases, grows only a short height, and can be planted even in a closet. God’s Gift requires dry and warm weather  the more similar to the outdoors of California the better.

Overview

This berry strain is a true blessing not only to taste but also to indica lovers and patients with mental or physical conditions. The relaxation it induces is second to none, made all-the-more profound by the dreamy euphoria and overarching positivity it’s pervaded by.

Speaking strictly medically, God’s Gift can help a great deal with people who struggle with different kinds of physical pain, mental issues like anxiety, PTS, and bipolar disorder, but most of all, enough of it will put even an insomniac horse to sleep.

Overall, this is a special kind of weed that only sworn Sativa lovers wouldn’t see as a gift of the Gods.
